Zurich Volkshaus has been home to baths for 100 years. The 11.11.11 will mark a new chapter in the socialist history of this building. A combined hamam and sauna in the basement will offer visitors bathing pleasure in line with the tradition of Antiquity but in a modern environment, incl. various massages and beauty treatments as well as a gastronomic offer.

Art in form of murals (Eric Schumacher), ceiling frescos (VeronesiHöpflinger),  illuminated pictures (Husmann/Tschäni), and ceramic paintings (Noel Fischer) as well as a special architecture ensure an overall atmospheric work of art and a site not quite of this world but in the heart of town.

CRAFT HYPE

 

            

 

For the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin, (January 2011) MoMu, the Fashion Museum in Antwerp and Mercedes-Benz, invited Belgian art director Frederik Heymann and 4 fashion designers to create 4 installations.

His decors are built completely by hand, in collaboration with a team of sculptors and artists. In the final results, the handcraft, the construction and consequently also quality craftsmanship are always clearly traceable. Fashion designers Bernhard Willhelm, Peter Pilotto, Henrik Vibskov and Mikio Sakabe have added their own visions to the installations with each 3 new looks.

WeSC (We are the Superlative Conspiracy), or We as it is casually known, is a Swedish clothing brand, based mainly on skateboarding influences and style. The brand first became famous through sponsoring many Swedish underground artists and musicians (called “activists” or “weactivists”)  this helped the brand to gain an underground, "alternative" image which turned out to be very popular.

This strategy has also made WESC come under fire because of their constructed "underdog" image, when they in fact are one of Sweden's biggest clothing companies.Some of their former "activists" have also spoken out how they regret promoting the brand.        -source Wikipedia
